North Carolina State Falls 33-6 to Cavaliers - Recap
Kevin Parks scampered through the North Carolina State defense for 115 yards as Virginia handed the Wolfpack a 33-6 defeat on Saturday at Carter-Finley Stadium.
Virginia won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 10.5-point spread as underdogs. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 52.5.
Phillip Sims completed 8 of 10 pass attempts for 115 yards for the Cavaliers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Shadrach Thornton rushed for 28 yards for North Carolina State, while Tony Creecy added 13 yards. Mike Glennon threw for 197 yards for the Wolfpack, while receivers Bryan Underwood and Quintin Payton had 52 and 49 yards respectively.
Virginia outgained North Carolina State 446-216 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 23-17 by the Cavaliers.
The time of possession battle favored Virginia as their offense was on the field for 36:42, longer than the 23:18 of their opponents.
Next game, Virginia takes its act home to face Miami looking for another win. For North Carolina State, they head home to face Wake Forest.
