Recap - Bulldogs Defeat UAB 29-24
LaDarius Perkins tore up the turf for 131 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Bulldogs to a 29-24 win over the Blazers at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field.
The Bulldogs earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 19-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 51.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Chris Relf completed 8 of 19 pass attempts for 107 yards for the Bulldogs in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Pat Shed rushed for 69 yards for UAB, while Justin Brooks added 28 yards. Bryan Ellis threw for 236 yards for the Blazers, while receivers Mike Jones and Frantrell Forrest had 66 and 58 yards respectively.
UAB was outgained by Mississippi State 378-354 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 24-18 by the Blazers.
The time of possession battle favored Mississippi State as their offense was on the field for 33:06, longer than the 26:54 of their opponents.
Mississippi State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Kentucky. UAB will aim to get back on the winning track at Southern Miss.
