Corey Robinson sliced and diced the Red Wolves defense for 316 yards as Troy handed Arkansas State a 35-28 defeat on Saturday at Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium.
Troy did not, however, defeat the Red Wolves against the spread, which closed at 10 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 66.5.
Chris Anderson rushed for 74 yards, while Shawn Southward added 33 yards in the win. Jerrel Jernigan and Jamel Johnson added 209 and 39 receiving yards respectively.
Ryan Aplin rushed for 89 yards for Arkansas State, while Jermaine Robertson added 68 yards. Ryan Aplin threw for 237 yards for the Red Wolves, while receivers Allen Muse and Taylor Stockemer had 119 and 75 yards respectively.
Troy outgained Arkansas State 505-450 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 22-21 by the Trojans.
Troy lost the time of possession battle 30:54/29:06, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Troy looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Middle Tennessee. Arkansas State will aim to get back on the winning track vs Louisville.
