Midshipmen vs Trojans Final: 42-14 - Recap
The battle between the Midshipmen and Trojans didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Troy was handed a 42-14 defeat on Saturday at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium.
Navy was the ATS victor, as they covered the 7.5-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 61.5 were rewarded at the payout window.
Kriss Proctor completed 4 of 6 pass attempts for 127 yards for the Midshipmen in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Shawn Southward rushed for 68 yards for Troy, while D.J. Taylor added 49 yards. Corey Robinson threw for 152 yards for the Trojans, while receivers Eric Thomas and Chandler Worthy had 60 and 52 yards respectively.
Navy outgained Troy 517-330 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 27-21 by the Midshipmen.
Troy lost the time of possession battle 32:22/25:18, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Navy takes its act on the road to face Southern Methodist looking for another win. For Troy, they head home to face North Texas.
