Florida State Defeats Miami 33-20 - Recap
The Seminoles were Week 8 winners on Saturday, coming out on top of the Hurricanes by a score of 33-20 at Sun Life Stadium.
Florida State did not, however, defeat the Hurricanes against the spread, which closed at 21 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 57.5.
EJ Manuel completed 21 of 31 pass attempts for 229 yards for the Seminoles in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Duke Johnson rushed for 27 yards for Miami, while Mike James added 25 yards. Stephen Morris threw for 223 yards for the Hurricanes, while receivers Mike James and Davon Johnson had 75 and 49 yards respectively.
Miami lost the offensive yardage battle to Florida State 447-258 yards in Saturday's game. Florida State had more first downs as that total ended up 23-14.
The time of possession battle favored Florida State as their offense was on the field for 34:34, longer than the 25:26 of their opponents.
Florida State looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Duke. Miami will aim to get back on the winning track vs Virginia Tech.
