Oakland Falls 28-20 to Saints - Recap
New Orleans earned a 28-20 victory over Oakland on Friday in Preseason Week 2 action at Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
New Orleans won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 6-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 42.5.
Drew Brees completed 14 of 18 pass attempts for 202 yards and 1 TD for the Saints in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Darren McFadden rushed for 17 yards for Oakland, while Terrelle Pryor added 15 yards. Matt Flynn threw for 124 yards for the Raiders, while receivers Brice Butler and David Ausberry had 38 and 30 yards respectively.
Oakland lost the offensive yardage battle to New Orleans 369-185 yards in Friday's game. New Orleans had more first downs as that total ended up 23-10.
The time of possession battle favored New Orleans as their offense was on the field for 33:30, longer than the 26:30 of their opponents.
New Orleans looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Texans. The Raiders will aim to get back on the winning track vs Chicago.
