Recap - Falcons Defeat New Mexico 48-23
The battle between the Falcons and Lobos didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as New Mexico was handed a 48-23 defeat on Saturday at Falcon Stadium.
Air Force won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the 35-point spread. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 57.5.
Connor Dietz completed 5 of 7 pass attempts for 67 yards for the Falcons in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Kasey Carrier rushed for 79 yards for New Mexico, while Stump Godfrey added 41 yards. Stump Godfrey threw for 99 yards for the Lobos, while receivers Lucas Reed and Ty Kirk had 54 and 26 yards respectively.
Air Force outgained New Mexico 461-258 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 31-15 by the Falcons.
New Mexico lost the time of possession battle 34:43/25:17, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Air Force looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against UNLV. New Mexico will aim to get back on the winning track at BYU.
