Recap - Orange Defeat Tulane 52-17

The battle between the Orange and Green Wave didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Tulane was handed a 52-17 defeat on Saturday at Carrier Dome.

Bettors who backed the Orange were also rewarded, as they covered the closing number as a favorite of 17.5 at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 53.5.

Terrel Hunt completed 16 of 21 pass attempts for 175 yards for the Orange in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.

Rob Kelley rushed for 56 yards for Tulane, while Orleans Darkwa added 35 yards. Nick Montana threw for 213 yards for the Green Wave, while receivers Justyn Shackleford and Ryan Grant had 106 and 70 yards respectively.

Tulane was outgained by Syracuse 405-330 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 25-18 by the Orange.

Syracuse lost the time of possession battle 32:18/27:42, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.

Next game, Syracuse takes its act home to face Clemson looking for another win. For Tulane, they head on the road to face Louisiana-Monroe.
