Blazers Fall 56-14 Against Marshall - Game Recap
Steward Butler scampered through the UAB defense for 139 yards as Marshall handed the Blazers a 56-14 defeat on Saturday at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.
Marshall won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 24.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 68.5.
Rakeem Cato completed 14 of 20 pass attempts for 276 yards for the Thundering Herd in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Jordan Howard rushed for 123 yards for UAB, while Darrin Reaves added 98 yards. Jonathan Perry threw for 176 yards for the Blazers, while receivers Jamarcus Nelson and Darrin Reaves had 58 and 47 yards respectively.
UAB lost the offensive yardage battle to Marshall 657-464 yards in Saturday's game. Marshall had more first downs as that total ended up 25-22.
Marshall lost the time of possession battle 39:01/20:59, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Marshall looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Tulsa. UAB will aim to get back on the winning track at East Carolina.
