Clemson Defeats Maryland 40-27 - Recap
Tajh Boyd was good for 304 yards through the air on Saturday as the Tigers got past the Terrapins by a score of 40-27 at Byrd Stadium.
Clemson did not, however, defeat the Terrapins against the spread, which closed at 16.5 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 59.5.
Roderick McDowell rushed for 161 yards, while Zac Brooks added 36 yards in the win. Sammy Watkins and Martavis Bryant added 163 and 88 receiving yards respectively.
Albert Reid rushed for 70 yards for Maryland, while Caleb Rowe added 23 yards. Caleb Rowe threw for 282 yards for the Terrapins, while receivers Levern Jacobs and Nigel King had 158 and 76 yards respectively.
Clemson outgained Maryland 551-364 yards in the game, while the battle of first downs was won 30-19 by the Tigers.
The time of possession battle favored Clemson as their offense was on the field for 33:16, longer than the 26:44 of their opponents.
Clemson looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Virginia. Maryland will aim to get back on the winning track vs Syracuse.
