Syracuse couldn't hang with the Yellow Jackets on Saturday as Georgia Tech blasted the Orange 56-0 in Week 8 action at Bobby Dodd Stadium.
Georgia Tech won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 8.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 54.5.
Vad Lee completed 3 of 3 pass attempts for 88 yards for the Yellow Jackets in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Jerome Smith rushed for 43 yards for Syracuse, while Prince-Tyson Gulley added 36 yards. Terrel Hunt threw for 68 yards for the Orange, while receivers Ashton Broyld and Jarrod West had 32 and 31 yards respectively.
Syracuse lost the offensive yardage battle to Georgia Tech 482-208 yards in Saturday's game. Georgia Tech had more first downs as that total ended up 26-10.
Georgia Tech led the time of possession tally, as the game finished as a 37:39/22:21 split in that important category.
Next game, Georgia Tech takes its act on the road to face Virginia looking for another win. For Syracuse, they head home to face Wake Forest.
