East Carolina Defeats Florida Atlantic 31-13 - Recap
East Carolina earned a 31-13 victory over Florida Atlantic on Thursday in Week 2 action at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
East Carolina did not, however, defeat the Owls against the spread, which closed at 19 at most sportsbooks. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 56.5.
Shane Carden completed 17 of 25 pass attempts for 191 yards for the Pirates in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Jonathan Wallace rushed for 44 yards for Florida Atlantic, while Jaquez Johnson added 39 yards. Greg Hankerson threw for 116 yards for the Owls, while receivers Jenson Stoshak and Daniel McKinney had 63 and 38 yards respectively.
East Carolina lost the time of possession battle 34:03/25:57, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, East Carolina takes its act home to face Virginia Tech looking for another win. For Florida Atlantic, they head on the road to face South Florida.
