Washington State vs Auburn Recap - Tigers Win 31-24
Corey Grant scampered through the Washington State defense for 146 yards as Auburn handed the Cougars a 31-24 defeat on Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
The Tigers earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 14-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 60.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Nick Marshall completed 10 of 19 pass attempts for 99 yards for the Tigers in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Teondray Caldwell rushed for 53 yards for Washington State, while Marcus Mason added 43 yards. Connor Halliday threw for 344 yards for the Cougars, while receivers Gabe Marks and Bobby Ratliff had 81 and 66 yards respectively.
Auburn lost the offensive yardage battle to Washington State 464-396 yards in Saturday's game. Washington State had more first downs as that total ended up 28-16.
Auburn lost the time of possession battle 31:27/28:33, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Auburn takes its act home to face Arkansas State looking for another win. For Washington State, they head on the road to face Southern Cal.
