Jaguars Fall 34-33 Against Troy - Game Recap
The Jaguars had no answer for Brandon Burks on Saturday as the Trojans rolled to a 34-33 win at Veterans Memorial Stadium.
The Trojans earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 3.5-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 62.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Corey Robinson completed 20 of 26 pass attempts for 210 yards for the Trojans in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Ross Metheny rushed for 55 yards for South Alabama, while Brandon Bridge added 54 yards. Ross Metheny threw for 236 yards for the Jaguars, while receivers Shavarez Smith and Wes Saxton had 106 and 95 yards respectively.
Troy was outgained by South Alabama 630-434 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 30-24 by the Jaguars.
Troy lost the time of possession battle 32:11/27:49, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Troy takes its act on the road to face Georgia State looking for another win. For South Alabama, they head home to face Kent State.
