Mustangs vs Owls Final: 59-49 - Recap
Garrett Gilbert's 538-yard performance through the air was the key in Southern Methodist's 59-49 win over Temple on Saturday at Gerald J. Ford Stadium.

Garrett Gilbert rushed for 97 yards, while Prescott Line added 41 yards in the win. Keenan Holman and Der'rikk Thompson added 209 and 158 receiving yards respectively.
P.J. Walker rushed for 92 yards for Temple, while Zaire Williams added 73 yards. P.J. Walker threw for 293 yards for the Owls, while receivers Robbie Anderson and Ryan Alderman had 239 and 42 yards respectively.
Temple lost the offensive yardage battle to Southern Methodist 728-593 yards in Saturday's game. Southern Methodist had more first downs as that total ended up 34-23.
Temple lost the time of possession battle 30:07/29:53, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Southern Methodist takes its act on the road to face Cincinnati looking for another win. For Temple, they head on the road to face Rutgers.
