The battle between the Lightning and Hurricanes didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Carolina was handed a 5-1 defeat on Friday at RBC Center.
The Lightning were a +100 underdog in the win. The combined score pushed PUSH the total, which closed at 6.
Vincent Lecavalier, Martin St. Louis, Adam Hall, Ryan Malone, and Steve Downie each scored for the Lightning in the victory. St. Louis opened the scoring for Tampa Bay, finding the back of the net at 5:19 of the second period. The goal was assisted by Steven Stamkos.
Dwayne Roloson turned in a 32-save effort for the Lightning.
Jeff Skinner scored for the Hurricanes, finding the net behind Dwayne Roloson.
Carolina got a 29-stop effort from Cam Ward in the loss.
