Marian Gaborik scored a pair of goals against the Senators as New York handed Ottawa a 3-2 defeat on Wednesday at Scotiabank Place.

Marian Gaborik (2) and Derek Stepan each scored for the Rangers in the victory. Gaborik opened the scoring for New York, finding the back of the net at 9:21 of the second period. The goal was assisted by Derek Stepan.

Henrik Lundqvist stopped 29 of 31 Ottawa shots in the victory.

Ottawa got goals from Milan Michalek and Nick Foligno in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Craig Anderson stopped 16 of 19 shots for the Senators, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, New York went 0-for-1, while the Senators were 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

New York lost the shots on goal battle to Ottawa by a margin of 31-19.

New York looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Hurricanes. The Senators will aim to get back on the winning track at Buffalo.
