St. Louis earned a 4-3 victory over Atlanta on Saturday, but needed a shootout to do it at Scottrade Center.
The Blues were a -215 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.
The win was clinched by Brad Boyes, who beat Ondrej Pavelec in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for St. Louis. St. Louis got goals from Jay McClement (3) in the victory. McClement opened the scoring at 11:58 of the first period.
Jaroslav Halak turned in a 25-save effort for the Blues.
Nik Antropov, Niclas Bergfors, and Rich Peverley scored for the Thrashers, finding the net behind Jaroslav Halak.
Ondrej Pavelec stopped 32 of 35 shots for the Thrashers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, St. Louis went 0-for-3, while the Thrashers were 2-for-7 with the man advantage.
St. Louis outshot Atlanta 35-28 in the game.
St. Louis heads into a battle against the Sharks. Atlanta, meanwhile, will have their next action against Florida.
