Toronto Falls 4-0 to Lightning - Recap

The battle between the Lightning and Maple Leafs didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Toronto was handed a 4-0 defeat on Tuesday at St. Pete Times Forum.

Tampa Bay won as a -148 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Steven Stamkos (2), Dominic Moore, and Nate Thompson each scored for the Lightning in the victory. Stamkos opened the scoring for Tampa Bay, finding the back of the net at 11:10 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Martin St. Louis and Vincent Lecavalier.

Dan Ellis turned in a 28-save effort for the Lightning.

Toronto got a 21-stop effort from Jean-Sebastien Giguere in the loss.

On the power play, Tampa Bay went 1-for-2, while the Maple Leafs were 0-for-5 with the man advantage.

Tampa Bay lost the shots on goal battle to Toronto by a margin of 28-25.

Tampa Bay looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Capitals. The Maple Leafs will aim to get back on the winning track at Florida.
