Mike Knuble and Mike Green scored for the Capitals, finding the net behind Marc-Andre Fleury.

Michal Neuvirth stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Capitals, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Pittsburgh went 0-for-5, while the Capitals were 1-for-6 with the man advantage.

Pittsburgh lost the shots on goal battle to Washington by a margin of 34-27.

Pittsburgh looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Senators. The Capitals will aim to get back on the winning track at Carolina.
