The battle between the Bruins and Flyers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Philadelphia was handed a 6-1 defeat on Saturday at Wells Fargo Center.

The Bruins were a -122 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Boston got goals from Jarome Iginla (2), Zdeno Chara (2), Patrice Bergeron, and Reilly Smith in the victory. Chara opened the scoring at 6:30 of the first period.

Tuukka Rask turned in a 25-save effort for the Bruins.

Claude Giroux scored for the Flyers, finding the net behind Tuukka Rask.

Steve Mason stopped 15 of 19 shots for the Flyers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

Boston scored 3 times on 4 chances on the power play, while Philadelphia went 1-for-2 with the man advantage.

Philadelphia lost the shots on goal battle to Boston by a margin of 33-26.

Next game, Boston takes its act on the road to face New York looking for another win. For Philadelphia, they head home to face Detroit.
