Nationals edge D-Backs
The lowly Washington Nationals got out to an early lead and held on for a 5-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks Friday night in the opener of a three-game series at Chase Field.
Washington won the game as +115 underdogs, while the nine runs went UNDER the posted over/under (10.5).
Jesus Flores hit a solo home run and drove in two runs to lead the Nationals. Shairon Martis improved to 4-0 with the win, and Kip Wells earned his first save of the season.
Felipe Lopez had three hits and scored twice for the Diamondbacks. Yusmeiro Petit gave up six hits and four runs over four innings in the loss.
