D-Backs split with Padres
The Arizona Diamondbacks pulled out a 5-3 victory over the San Diego Padres 5-3 Wednesday night to earn a split of their season-opening three-game series.
Arizona won the game as -135 favorites, while the eight runs went UNDER the posted over/under (9.5).
Kelly Johnson blasted two home runs and drove in three runs to lead the Diamondbacks. Blaine Boyer got the win in relief, and Chad Qualls closed out the game for his first save of the year.
Scott Hairston belted a three-run homer in a losing effort for the Padres. Kevin Correia gave up four runs off seven hits over six innings in the loss.
