Cubs hold off Cardinals

Alfonso Soriano drove in two runs on Saturday afternoon as the Chicago Cubs held on for a 5-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Cubs were winners as -195 home favorites in this contest, while the combined score fell UNDER the day's posted total (9.5).

Cubs starter Ted Lilly went seven innings, giving up four earned runs on six hits while striking out five batters.

Joel Pineiro allowed three earned runs on six hits over six innings in his start for the Cardinals, fanning three.

Mark DeRosa also picked up an RBI for Chicago in the win. Troy Glaus hit his 25th home run of the season in the loss for St. Louis.
