Cubs cripple Marlins
Chicago Cubs starter Ted Lilly went eight solid innings, giving the Cubs a 6-1 win over the Florida Marlins at Wrigley Field Saturday.
Chicago won as a -130 home favorite while the final score played under the 10-run total.
Lilly pitched eight innings, allowing one run on five hits and striking out 10 batters. Cubs first baseman Derrek Lee hit his second home run of the season while shortstop Ryan Theriot also hit a home run and had two RBI on the day.
Marlins outfielder Cody Ross scored Florida's lone run on a solo home run in the fifth inning. Stater Anibal Sanchez went just four innings after allowing six runs on nine hits.
