Ludwick leads Cards past Cubs
Ryan Ludwick drove in four runs to lift the St. Louis Cardinals over the Chicago Cubs 8-3 Friday afternoon in the opener of a three-game series at Wrigley Field.
St. Louis won the game as -120 favorites, while the 11 runs made it OVER the day’s posted over/under (8.5).
Albert Pujols went 2-for-3 at the plate with a pair of RBIs, while scoring three times for the Cardinals. Chris Carpenter scattered seven hits and three runs over six innings in the victory.
Derrek Lee belted a three-run homer in a losing effort for the Cubs, while Rich Harden gave up four runs over five innings on the mound.
