Cubs down Reds in opener
Aramis Ramirez went 3-for-3 at the plate and drove in three runs to lead the Chicago Cubs over the Cincinnati Reds 6-4 Friday afternoon in the opener of a three-game set at Wrigley Field.
The Cubs won the game as -260 favorites, and the 10 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (8.5).
Geovany Soto homered and drove in a pair of runs for the Cubs. Jeff Stevens picked up the win in relief, and Carlos Marmol closed out the game for his 12th save.
Jonny Gomes belted a three-run homer in a losing effort. Justin Lehr gave up five runs over 4 2-3 innings.
