Cubs fend off Marlins

Carlos Marmol held off a ninth-inning rally to notch his fifth save as the Chicago Cubs got past the Florida Marlins 4-3 Wednesday to avoid a three-game sweep at Wrigley Field.

The Cubs won the game as a -117 favorite, while the seven runs went UNDER the posted over/under (8) set by sportsbooks.

Mike Fontenot drove in a pair of runs for the Cubs, while Carlos Silva tossed 6 1-3 innings to earn his third victory of the season.

Chris Volstad gave up four earned runs off seven hits in his six innings of work for the Marlins.
