Cubs top Pirates in rubber match

Kosuke Fukudome went 3-for-3 and drove in a run as the Chicago Cubs defeted the Pittsburgh Pirates 5-3 Wednesday in the series rubber match at Wrigley Field.

The Cubs won the game as -155 favorites, while the eight runs went UNDER the posted over/under (10.5) set by sportsbooks.

Thomas Diamond pitched just under two innings of relief for the win, and Carlos Marmol was solid down-the-stretch with his 25th save.

James McDonald surrendered eight hits and three runs over five innings in the Pirates loss.
