Reds slip past White Sox
Brandon Phillips belted a two-run homer and drove in the winning run to lift the Cincinnati Reds to a 4-3 victory over the Chicago White Sox Friday at Great American Ball Park.
Cincinnati won the game as -115 favorites, while the seven runs went UNDER the posted over/under (9).
Ramon Hernandez went 2-for-3 at the plate and drove in the other runs for the Reds. Bronson Arroyo improved to 8-5 with the win, and Francisco Cordero collected his 17th save.
Chris Getz belted a two-run homer for the White Sox, while Jose Contreras surrendered nine hits and three runs in the loss.
