Mets outlast Reds

The New York Mets scored four runs in the seventh inning and held on for a 9-7 win over the Cincinnati Reds Wednesday night.

New York won the game as +105 underdogs, and the combined 16 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (8).

Carlos Delgado belted a two-run homer, and finished 2-for-5 with four RBIs for the Mets. Mike Pelfrey tossed five innings for the win, and Francisco Rodriguez notched his second straight save.

Joey Votto had three hits for the Reds, including a three-run blast. Edinson Volquez gave up five runs off six hits over 4 1-3 innings in suffering the loss.
