Brewers hold off Reds
The Milwaukee Brewers blew open the game with a five-run sixth-inning and held on for a 9-6 win over the Cincinnati Reds Thursday night in the opener of a four-game series at Great American Ball Park.
Milwaukee won the game as +100 underdogs, and the 15 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (9.5).
Prince Fielder belted a three-run homer, and J.J. Hardy also drove in three runs for the Brewers. Braden Looper tossed 5 1-3 innings for the win, allowing three runs off seven hits.
Edwin Encarnacion smacked a three-run homer and finished with four runs batted in for the Reds. Homer Bailey was rocked for seven runs off six hits in the loss.
