Rockies edge D-Backs in rubber match
Todd Helton drove in his second run of the afternoon with a belted a game-winning home run in the eighth inning as the Colorado Rockies snuck past the Arizona Diamondbacks 4-3 in the series rubber match at Coors Field Wednesday.
Arizona won the game as +195 underdogs, while the seven runs went UNDER the day’s posted over/under (9).
Yorvit Torrealba and Garrett Atkins drove in the other runs for the Rockies. Juan Rincon picked up his second win of the season in relief, and Huston Street secured the victory with his 24th save.
Miguel Montero smacked a three-run homer for the Diamondbacks. Scott Schoeneweis gave up the winning run and suffered his second loss in relief.
