Howard hits 57th homer in Phillies win
Ryan Howard hit his MLB-leading 57th home run, one of four homers on the day for the Philadelphia, and Mike Lieberthal chipped in with two of his own as the Phillies topped the Houston Astros 6-4 at Minute Maid Park on Sunday.
The Phillies were favored to win on the road at -115, and the ten runs scored were just OVER the posted total of 9.5.
Randy Wolf gave up three runs on five hits to keep his record clean at 4-0, and Tom Gordon tossed a scoreless ninth inning for his 31st save of the season. Jimmy Rollins also hit his 21th homer of the year for the Phillies.
Wandy Rodriguez was tagged for four runs and six hits over five innings to drop to 9-10. Lance Berkman, his 41st of the year, and Craig Biggio hit a long ball each for the Astros.
