Dodgers down Cards in opener
The Los Angeles Dodgers captured Game 1 of their NL divisional series with a 5-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals Wednesday night.
Los Angeles won the game as +115 underdogs, while the eight runs made it OVER the posted over/under (7).
Rafael Furcal went 3-for-4 at the plate with one RBI for the Dodgers. Jeff Weaver picked up the win in relief, and Jonathan Broxton collected his first save of the postseason.
Mark DeRosa had three hits and drove in one run for the Cardinals. Chris Carpenter gave up nine hits and four runs over five innings in the loss.
