Cardinals avoid sweep to Brewers
The St. Louis Cardinals broke open a close game with four runs in the eighth inning, and went on to defeat the Milwaukee Brewers 7-3 to avoid a three-game sweep at Miller Park.
St. Louis won the game as +180 underdogs, and the combined 10 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9).
Albert Pujols homered, and finished 2-for-3 at the plate. Brad Thompson gave up five hits and two runs over six innings in the win.
Ryan Braun led the Brewers with three hits and drove in all three runs in the setback. Carlos Villanueva gave up five runs and three hits in six innings to suffer the loss.
