Nationals fend off Giants
The Washington Nationals led by five runs early in the game Tuesday and held off the San Francisco Giants for an 8-6 win.

Nick Johnson went 3-4 at the plate in the win, collecting two RBI as the Nationals grab the opener of a three-game series.
Ray Durham collected three RBI in the loss, belting two home runs and finishing 2-4 at the plate.
Ramon Ortiz went six innings for the win, giving up five runs off seven hits and Chad Cordero collected his 16th save of the season. Matt Morris fell to 8-8 with the loss, surrendering seven runs off seven hits in 2 2/3 innings on the hill.
