D-Backs hold off Phillies
The Arizona Diamondbacks surrendered three runs in the ninth, but hung on for a 4-3 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, earning a sweep of the three-game series at Citizens Bank Park.
Arizona won the game as +105 road underdogs, and the seven runs fell UNDER the posted over/under (9).
Eric Byrnes led the D-Backs with two home runs. Randy Johnson allowed just one hit over six innings of work for the win, and Jose Valverde closed out the game with his 19th save.
Jimmy Rollins was 1-4, and had a two-run triple for the Phillies. Jamie Moyer allowed four runs off eight hits in 7 2-3 innings of work in suffering the loss.
