Nationals down red hot Phillies
Ivan Rodriguez drove in the winning runs to lift the Washington Nationals to a 7-5 victory over the Philadelphia Phillies Thursday to avoid a sweep of the three-game series at Citizens Bank Park.
Washington won the game as +220 underdogs, but the 12 runs made it OVER the posted over/under (9.5) set by sportsbooks.
Tyler Clippard improved to 2-0 with the win in relief, and Matt Capps collected his fourth save by closing out the ninth.
Danys Baez gave up three runs in relief and suffered the loss on the hill for the Phillies.
