Phillies pound Mets
The Philadelphia Phillies crushed their NL East rivals, the New York Mets, 10-0 at Citizens Bank Park Saturday.
Philadelphia won as a -217 home favorite while the final score played OVER the 7.5-run total.
Shane Victorino had a big day at the plate for the Phillies, finishing 2-for-5 with three RBI. Jayson Werth, Raul Ibanez and Juan Castro all recorded two RBI while Carlos Ruiz has one RBI. Starter Roy Halladay pitched a complete game shutout, giving up only three hits and striking out six batters.
Mets starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey last only four innings, allowing six runs on eight hits. Jason Bay, David Wright and Henry Blanco were the only batters to register hits in the loss.
