Rangers avoid sweep
The Texas Rangers avoided a three-game sweep by the Pittsburgh Pirates with a 6-0 shutout Thursday night at PNC Park.
Texas won the game as +160 underdogs, while the final score fell UNDER the posted over/under (8.5).
Gerald Laird belted a three-run homer to lead the Rangers. Kameron Loe fanned seven batters and allowed just five hits over eight innings for just his second win of the season.
Ryan Doumit had two hits for the Pirates, and Tom Gorzelanny gave up seven hits and five runs over seven innings in the loss.
