Armas, Pirates shut down Brewers
Tony Armas combined on a four-hit shutout Monday, as the Pittsburgh Pirates hammered the Milwaukee Brewers 9-0 in the opener of a three-game set at PNC Park.
Pittsburgh won the game as a +130 underdog, while the nine runs were UNDER the posted over/under (9.5).
Nate McClouth belted a two-run homer, and Adam LaRoche also drove in two runs for the Pirates. Armas allowed six hits over six innings to move to 4-5 on the season.
Corey Hart led the Brewers with two hits, and Carlos Villanueva surrendered two runs from five hits over five innings on the mound in the loss.
