Pirates fend off Reds
The Pittsburgh Pirates jumped out to a five-run lead and held off a late rally to defeat the Cincinnati Reds 8-6 Saturday night at PNC Park.
Pittsburgh won the game as a -110 pick’em, and the 14 runs sailed OVER the posted over/under (8.5).
Nate McClouth had three hits and drove in one run for the Pirates, and Ramon Vazquez drove in two runs. Ross Ohlendorf tossed six innings for the win, allowing six hits and three runs.
Alex Gonzalez belted a three-run homer for the Reds, while Micah Owings gave up nine hits and five runs to suffer the loss.
