Pirates upend Marlins

James McDonald allowed one run over seven innings to earn the win in the Pittsburgh Pirates' 7-1 victory over the Florida Marlins on Monday night.

Pittsburgh cashed as +100 home underdogs, while the game played UNDER the 8.5-run total set by oddsmakers.

Pedro Alvarez was 2-for-4 with three runs batted in for the Pirates, who also got three RBIs from Garrett Jones in the payday.

Dan Uggla went 3-for-4 with an RBI for Florida, while losing pitcher Chris Volstad was tagged for five runs over five innings for the Marlins.
