Big inning propels Mets over Padres
The New York Mets scored six runs in the eighth inning to break open the game and go on and defeat the San Diego Padres 7-2 Thursday night.

Slugger Carlos Delgado hit a two-run homer and went 2-4 at the plate as the Mets win game one of a four-game stand against the Padres.

Duaner Sanchez pitched to two batters and gave up no hits or runs as he was credited with the win. Scott Linebrink gave up three runs from three hits to fall to 1-2 on the season.
