Padres handcuff Red Sox

Chris Young tossed a one-hitter over seven innings on Saturday, leading the San Diego Padres to a 6-1 win over the Boston Red Sox at PETCO Park.

The Padres were home favorites at -120, and the seven runs scored were UNDER the posted total of 7.5.

Young (7-3) struck out 11 of the 25 batters he faced, and Khalil Greene hit a pair of solo homers for the Padres.

Tim Wakefield (7-8) allowed six runs on eight hits over 5 1-3 innings, with Mike Lowell adding a two-out RBI in the ninth inning for the Red Sox.
