Jake Peavy fanned 10 batters and tossed six scoreless innings to lift the San Diego Padres to a 4-0 win over the Chicago Cubs Friday night in the opener of a three-game set at Petco Park.

The Padres won the game as -150 favorites, while the team’s played UNDER the posted over/under (7).

Adrian Gonzalez homered, and Brian Giles drove in two runs for the Padres. Heath Bell closed out the game for his 12th save of the season.

Carlos Zambrano gave up three runs over 4 2-3 innings in the loss for the Cubs.
