Braves clinch rubber match

The Atlanta Braves clinched the three-game series with San Diego by defeating the Padres 6-2 Wednesday afternoon in the finale at Petco Park.

Atlanta won the game as -160 favorites, and the eight runs made it OVER the day's posted over/under (7).

Nate McClouth went 3-for-5 at the plate with a pair of runs batted in for the Braves. Tommy Hanson threw six innings for the win, allowing five hits and two runs.

Will Venable belted a two-run homer for the Padres. Chad Gaudin gave up nine hits and six runs over 3 1-3 innings in taking the loss.
