Johan Santana allowed only one run on five hits over eight innings Sunday, as the New York Mets defeated the San Diego Padres 5-1.

Jeff Francoeur was 2-4 with two runs scored for the Mets and Santana had an RBI in the win.

Chase Headley drove in San Diego’s lone run and Tim Stauffer took the loss after giving up one run on five hits in five innings.
