Garrett Jones' run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning broke a 3-3 tie, as the Pittsburgh Pirates went on to hold off the San Francisco Giants 6-5 on Tuesday night.

Pittsburgh won as +175 road underdogs, while the teams played OVER the 7.5-run total listed by oddsmakers.

Jones finished 3-for-4 with two runs batted in for the Pirates, as Evan Meek got the win in relief of Paul Maholm for Pittsburgh.

Eugenio Velez hit a two-run dinger and had three RBIs for San Francisco, while Jeremy Affeldt was handed the loss after allowing Jones' RBI single in the top of the eighth.
